Hard to believe it has been 30 years since Paul left PPG Industries and began Conners Sales Group, an independent rep firm, in the garage of our small home in suburban Chicago, IL.
A lot has changed in 30 years. Paul has always said to that to be successful at selling you need to develop relationships. In 1994 that meant meetings face to face, always being in touch by knocking on doors. Technology has changed selling. Many do not know life before texts, cell calls, messages on social media, emails. We thought a pager was a game changer and so cool. Whether that is a change for the better, not sure. Seems like we need to be available at all hours. But one thing remains - Paul still values relationships in selling and wouldn't have it any other way. And he is still out making face to face calls. And customer service - the CSG team is part of the "call back, follow up, build relationships" philosophy of selling.
